The Four Templates

The Four Assessment Categories

• Category 1 · AI Not Permitted — closed assessment; submitted work entirely the student's own
• Category 2 · AI Permitted for Specified Tasks Only — e.g., grammar checking; all use disclosed
• Category 3 · AI Permitted with Full Disclosure — AI throughout the process, documented in an AI Use Statement with critical reflection
• Category 4 · AI-Integrated Assessment — AI use required; the critical engagement with the tool is what's assessed

Five Rules for Responsible Student Use

• Disclose when required — hiding AI use is dishonest even if the work is good
• Verify everything — AI produces plausible but incorrect information
• Protect privacy — never enter personal data into public AI tools
• Think critically — AI reproduces biases and cultural assumptions; evaluate, don't accept
• Keep your voice — your perspective, experience, and cultural knowledge are valuable
